What is a 'Practitioner?'
A Practitioner is a highly trained spiritual counselor who has undergone three years of study, passed stringent oral and written exams, and been licensed by the United Centers for Spiritual Living.
What is spiritual counseling?
Spiritual counseling is a bit different than regular counseling in several ways: perhaps the most important way is that we do not start with a diagnosis of something wrong with the client, and then spend many sessions delving into the past to figure it all out. We start with a premise that the client is already perfect, but wishes to change a situation in his or her life. We then explore the beliefs that created the situation and work towards changing those beliefs, without judgment.
What happens during a session?
I see clients either at the Lake Tahoe Spiritual Living Center (map), or at the Carson City Center (map) for Spiritual Living. I also do telephone sessions.
Sessions take about an hour and are completely confidential. I begin each session with an invocation, acknowledging the presence of Spirit in our work together. Then we talk. Clients have the opportunity to outline the problem or situation, then we work on the spiritual solution together. I quite frequently will give assignments for the client to continue the work that is begun in session. I also encourage clients to spend some quiet time in nature after each session, to live with the healing energy that is created during the session, and to anchor it. Sessions end with a treatment.
Sessions cost $65 per hour and can be paid with cash, check, PayPal (below) or credit/debit card.
