Make a living doing what you love!

What would you give to be able to do what you love, and make a living at it? What if I told you that you wouldn’t have to give anything?

What are your arguments against this?  Let’s hear them!

Live to your fullest potential!

Last night I dropped my 92 year old step-grandmother (it’s a long story…but she’s the only grandma I have left) off at her assisted living center.  It was about sunset, absolutely beautiful outside.  I was driving my convertible, there was a soft warm breeze blowing and I was full of the stuff that makes for living fully:  a spiritual knowing inside that I am part of the One, that I am connected, and that I am good, ok, and absolutely not an alien from outer space!  One of these days we’ll talk about that, but not today.  Today I want to share with you that glorious feeling that I had last night, that feeling that I was living life to it’s fullest potential.

How do you live life to it’s fullest potential?  If you’ve been reading this blog at all, you know I believe it starts within. And I have a lot of company in that belief!  It’s not about doing, it’s about being.  It’s not about how much stuff you have, it’s about being grateful for what you have.  It’s about taking time to listen to your truth, that inner wisdom that sometimes expresses itself as a physical sensation, or as a small voice within that is quiet but insistent.  It’s about being in nature regularly, about meditation, about making sure your thinking is on the right track.

Once the thinking is good, once you’ve got your spiritual practices in place, once you are regularly going within to listen to your truth, then you can work outward.  Then you get involved in relationships, then you can start doing all the things you wanted to do.  Then you can fearlessly move outward:  climb a mountain, start a new career, get involved in a healthy relationship, become part of a spiritual community, volunteer, plant something in a garden, do a sport you’ve always wanted to do (remember, you’re living life fully now, don’t let age stop you, it’s a fallacy!), do something!  Or not!  If you’ve spent your life doing, back off.  Take items off your plate, create some empty space in your life.  Perhaps you’ve been afraid to be alone.  Being alone is awesome, and there is nothing to be afraid of there.

Living life to it’s fullest means placing no limits on your life.  It means you say yes to whatever comes your way.  It means you are open.  It means you enjoy what you do, every day, no matter what you are doing.

If you aren’t enjoying life, then you aren’t living to it’s fullest potential.   There’s nothing shameful in that, but wouldn’t you rather enjoy life?  Wouldn’t you rather be able to go to bed at night thinking that you’ve had a good day?

Live in the now, right this moment.  Don’t think about tomorrow, don’t worry about yesterday, just live right now.  Enjoy what comes your way!  Have fun1
